    The
    U.S. Postal Service issued these
    Deer Greetings
    picture postal cards in 2000 - the year following the release of the
    self-adhesive 33¢ stamps of the same design
    by the artist, Tom Nikosey of Canoga Park, CA. Each postcard measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and has 20¢ paid postage on the back in the same design and color as on the front of the card. [Since today's current postcard rate in the U.S. is 35¢, 15¢ postage would need to be added in order to send it.]
    The cards feature an antique-gold deer design set against four different colored backgrounds (red, green, purple, and blue) - a design with inspiration based on a holiday design foundries made available to printers in the 1930s.
